Bunbury High Students land in the Collective
This July School Holidays, handmade products from Bunbury Senior High School UniChoice students will be available in the Maker + Co Collective for purchase.75 Victoria Street.
What will be available?
There will be a large variety of products available for purchase - from jewellery, to fashion, ceramics and art. These students have braved the vulnerability that comes in hand when displaying your art work in public for the first time, and are eager to sell their very first piece!
What is UniChoice?
Edith Cowan University has offered the UniChoice program for the past four years. The program is offered to Year 9 and 10 students across the South West and highlights how accessible university education can be, irrespective of individual background, educational or prospective career circumstances.
In 2018, a select group of students from Bunbury Senior High School participated in a revamped version of the program: UniChoice - Pathways to Enterprise. This tailored and targeted program focused on pathways into careers in the visual arts via higher education and enterprise development. Students engaged with academics, student mentors and industry professionals from specialist areas including fine arts, fashion design, graphic design, marketing and jewellery design.
Each student has developed their very own artwork or artisan product and is now being supported by the Maker + Co Collective, in partnership with ECU, to sell their work in a zero cost, zero commission arrangement during the July school holidays.
