Opening night: Friday 1st March
Christine Blowfield and Deanna Mosca are taking over the galleries!
An exhibition of works that hold extreme differences.
Christine is exploring further her love for the Australian landscape and its variances. The raw explosion of colour and depth in her abstract pieces, to her large thought provoking landscapes.
She is thriving on a contrast between the matt surfaces and the extreme sheen created. Texture and smoothness are creating opulence, which is only surpassed by these beautiful places. Her goal is to dictate to the viewer a transient emotion between the two. In some works the two merge in other works the contrast is distinctive. Acrylic and resin pieces are featured. She has been inspired by our local South West all the way to the Northern Territory. Both has huge variances, but are connected in a raw, emotional way.
Deanna Mosca examines the human condition through yearning, loss, despair, and growth.
This is a collection of works of mixed media in acrylics and oils, painted with a sense of minimalism and expressionism to echo feelings of emptiness and fragility.
The raw canvas becomes a medium itself in becoming drawn from the surface and peeling back the layers.
'Second Strand takes me on a journey to a place where time and space doesn’t matter, it becomes a place where I’m home'.
