Have you always wanted to learn coding and programming but don't know where to start?

Are you overwhelmed by the idea of doing an online course on your own?

Do you want to expand your networks to other women, just like you who are also interested in tech?

South West Web Girls is an extension of Perth{web}Girls - a grassroots Perth organisation empowering women to code and offering pathways into tech careers by organising free programming workshops and events. Our goal is to increase the diversity in the tech community, spark collaboration, creativity, and expand networks. This is our first event in Bunbury, which hopefully will evolve into an annual event.

We offer beginner level HTML & CSS, and Django & Python workshops - with a mix of online content, and mentoring from professionals who have experience in industry. This event is a collaboration between Perth{web}Girls and Maker + Co, with support from New Industries WA and Spacecubed.

The format of the day is as follows:
10.00 Arrival, coffee, chat

10.30 Introduction to PWG, and coding basics

10.00 Break into small teams to go through an online tutorial, with a mentor handy for when you get stuck.

12.30 Break for lunch (yes, lunch is provided, thanks to our brilliant sponsors)

1.00 onwards This day is all about YOU - work as fast or as slow as you like.

2.00 Cupcakes and yoga

5.00 That's all folks!
