As the creative driver of Maker + Co, Colette offers arts expertise that is unique in its diversity and breadth. A 20 year career has taken her on a journey from managing world class venues in London’s West End to outback theatres in WA, 300 piece exhibitions in ghost towns, multimedia public artworks in regional airports, sculptures on highways, Ngarluma language on water towers in Wickham and lots in between. With a sound reputation in London and WA as an arts manager, she has a growing reputation in Australia for her ability to undertake and deliver highly complex projects. She combines absolute professionalism with a natural ability to create grassroots relationships and community connections.
Colette created her own business, Archipelago Arts, in the Pilbara in 2010. Operating within a business community focused primarily on servicing the mining industry, Colette brought a new level of respect to the arts in the Pilbara region. In 2012, and again the following year, the business was recognised as Overall Best Business at the Karratha and Districts Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards. Archipelago Arts was the first and only female owned and fastest from start up (also with the youngest business owner) to secure this prestigious award in the Pilbara.
