Maker + Co, in partnership with Artsource, are project managing an interpretation and engagement process for the City of Mandurah as they seek public art for a major new traffic bridge. Maker’s involvement, led by our Creative Director Colette McEntee, will oversee the appointment of a creative team who will user art and innovation tell Mandurah’s stories in new ways.
We are looking for artists and innovators OUT OF THE BOX ideas to tell Mandurah’s stories around the city’s new traffic bridge, due for completion in early 2018.
Collaborations between traditional and non-traditional public artists, including those working with words, sound, light, the landscape and emerging techs, are encouraged to celebrate the connections local people and visitors have with the iconic Old Traffic Bridge. Tales of the Binjareb people, settlers, holidaymakers, and future visions of a welcoming and multicultural city will also be celebrated.
Artists are strongly encouraged to participate in a brainstorming day, Bridging Culture, on 12 May to develop early concepts that will inform the Expressions of Interest process.
