About Us

Located in the Old Lyric Theatre in the Bunbury CBD, Maker + Co is a social enterprise focused on providing social and economic development opportunities to sections of the community who have traditionally been marginalised. We undertake a combination of commercial activities, trading in space and time, to maximise improvements in human and environmental well-being. Our activities centre around three main pillars of co working, innovation and creativity.

Space: We manage a range of spaces including: a co working space; a retail space; a fully accessible open learning and exhibition space. Our spaces are unique, flexible, creative and inspiring.

Time: The Maker + Co Directors are consultants, project managers and mentors. We are delivering major projects focused on: Innovation and New Technology; Noongar Arts and Culture (including how to use the newest forms of technology to create engagement with the oldest continuing culture in the world); Public Art; STE(A)M; Regional Economic Development/Diversification and Enterprise Development.

In our first financial year of operation (FY16/17), we grew Maker + Co into a healthy, viable entity positioned perfectly for further growth. We currently provide co working and/or incubation and mentoring to approximately 20 local businesses including 5 Aboriginal businesses. We have achieved this with the bare minimum of external investment and we now seek partners to join us in continued growth and expansion.
